Family Getaway
Blind Bay, B.C.
Late October in Blind Bay, B.C. has a charm all its own. The air is crisp, the lake sparkles under soft autumn light, and there’s a calmness that instantly makes you slow down. Wew took a short family getaway to enjoy some fresh air, peaceful walks, and the simple pleasures of lakeside life. Having family visit from different parts of the planet brings the travelers in all of us I believe!
On one of our mornings, we started with slow strolls along the waterfront. The lake was quiet, refelecting mountains, and the occasional boat created gentle ripples across the water. The kids collected colourful leaves along the shore, threw rocks to skip on the lake, while I snapped photos of the soft light on the water and the textures of fallen leaves. I love having opportunities similar to these where the shots make a place feel alive even without people in them.
Kelowna, B.C.
We also spent some time exploring Kelowna, just a short drive away. Kelowna City Park was a highlight; the walking paths, fall colours, and lake views were picture perfect. Downtown streets offered charming shops and cozy restaurants. We grabbed a warm cup of coffee and enjoyed some casual bites while snapping street-style shots of colourful storefronts and lively autmn decor.
Evenings were all about slowing down, watching the lake glow under sunset light, and capturing the warm tones of autumn on camera. Blind Bay in late October isn’t about big crowds or flashy attractions; it;s about quiet family moments, golden light, and enjoying the simple beauty of lakeside life.
